Encounter: Photographs by Jed Fielding

A PHOTOGRAPHER FOR OVER FIFTY YEARS, Jed Fielding’s work challenges our notion of the photographic document through his performative street portraiture. Traveling extensively, Fielding has photographed in Egypt, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Spain, as well as the United States. No matter where he photographs, the artist brings his viewers into the intimate interaction that he creates with his subjects. The relationships he develops in front of the camera elevate his work well beyond traditional street photography.
